Meet Jess
Experienced Animal Welfare Leader
My career began in higher education, researching at Harvard and teaching at Rice University. When an old stray dog crossed my path, all that changed and I devoted myself to helping animals and the people who love them, first as a volunteer and later switching careers to pursue lifesaving work full time.
Today I work for Best Friends Animal Society, the only national organization devoted to ending the killing of shelter pets, as the Sanctuary Operations Support Coordinator. I wear many hats in my role, from data analysis to process documentation to volunteer management, but I utilize the research and communication skills built through my academic work in all of them.
